Welcome to Renaissance Bicycles
Renaissance Bicycles delivers unique, vintage, and custom bicycles to the cycling enthusiast.
Basically, our renaissanced bicycles are individual creations that meld the best of yesterday’s frame building craftsmanship with today’s high quality components.
For the visual learner:

We build and sell beautiful bicycles that are meant to be enjoyed. We don’t focus on the latest greatest most carbon-acious bikes … we promote the sublime pleasure of a well-crafted frame that will outlast our own cycling ambitions.
Renaissance Bicycles also offers the unique service of complete restomod bicycle upgrades. If you need a new plan for that old bike, then you have found the right place. We use our experience and network of resources to revitalize your vintage bike from the ground up. Just contact us to start the collaboration.
We also sell new Components, Wheelsets, Accessories, and Apparel to outfit and upgrade your vintage lightweight bicycle.
And it is no surprise that we sell high quality frames and complete bikes:
- Timeless lugged steel craftsmanship is the hallmark of Rivendell Bicycle Works.
- For quality and style at an affordable price, we carry Soma Fabrications.
- And representing outstanding utility and commuter bikes, we have Holland’s Batavus.
- For the Titanium crowd, we proudly offer the meticulously crafted frames from Moots.

The Latest and Greatest Happenings …
A little glimpse into the latest goings-on at Renaissance Bicycles:
So … if you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you took a vintage lugged steel mountain bike (say from 1983 or so), converted it to 650B wheels and tires, used a short cage 1×9 drivetrain, got crazy with curved MTB handlebars, and then covered the whole thing with a metallic copper paint job … well wonder no more:
(Sadly, this maybe the last time this bike is seen without a healthy dose of WNC mud.)
You can read more about the origins this project under the blog entry Something Specialized This Way Comes. And if you have any questions about the setup, components, or special considerations for a build like this, just let us know.
