Renaissance Bicycles -- Vintage and Modern Lugged Steel Bicycles

1962 Legnano Gran Premio

This unique blend of vintage style and modern goodness is finally ready to unveil …

1962 Legnano Gran Premio

Basically, the concept of the bike was to take a very classic mid-level Italian bike and transform it into something that would be ideal for “events” like charity rides, credit-card touring, or just friendly paced groups rides. In other words, this is not a race bike, but instead a very comfortable and stylish road bike that is ready for the scenic countryside.

The bike is equipped with the reliability of the Shimano Ultegra triple groupset — brifters, cranks, cassette, chain, hubs, etc.  These modern pieces are complemented by the retro-classic Nitto stem and bars, Brooks B17 Narrow saddle, and full SKS fenders.

The custom paint is a modern reproduction of the original paint scheme. Since we received this frame in “less than ideal” condition, we took the liberty of painting it our liking. That said, there is hardly any difference except for the box stripping and placement of the “Gran Premio” decal. One note: An unfortunate accident happened during assembly … the cable stop slide down under tension and removed a small strip from the Legnano downtube decals.
