With the recent rediscovery of the mythical “sweet spot” for tire sizing, the 650b wheelsets are a great balance between the responsiveness of 26″ wheels and the gyroscopic advantage of 700c (aka 29″) wheels.  Originally developed for the French Porteur bikes, they are ideal for “real world” terrain … not too beefy, but very all-day rideable.

(Note: There is an important difference between 650b and 650c wheels.)
